Bayer Leverkusen has removed Robert Andrich, 31, as captain. The midfielder will be replaced by Edmond Tapsoba, who also takes on the role of vice-captain. Andrich, who joined Leverkusen in 2021 from Union Berlin for €6.5m, remains contractually bound until 2028. He was part of Leverkusen's Bundesliga title win in 2023/24 and also won the DFB-Pokal in that season. The former captain is now assessing his options after changing his stance on staying at the club in recent weeks.
