Lustrinelli's Header
Union head coach Mauro Lustrinelli (50) was again 100% on the pitch. He took the ball with his head from around 10 meters and headed it beautifully into the left corner. Goalkeeper Carl Klaus (32) could only watch from behind. The players cheered, Lustrinelli let himself be celebrated briefly and then demanded the same from his pros.
Tradition in the Ösi-Camp
At Union, the coaches are not only in demand on the pitch. Once a year, a prominent figure takes over the service at the mobile shop in the Ösi-Camp. Last year in Herzogenaurach, it was Sport Director Horst Heldt (56) and former Manager Oliver Ruhnert (54) who stood behind the sales counter. Now it's Co-Trainer Sebastian Bönig (44) who offers the new away jerseys to the fans. The new black away jersey is particularly popular.
Lath is back in training
There was also good news for the Irons. New signing Emmanuel Latte Lath (27) was still shaken on Thursday after a mid-air collision with Leopold Querfeld (22). The Ivorian had to leave the training session early and receive treatment. Now came the all-clear: Latte Lath completed the unit again. Although his knee was bandaged, the new Union striker seemed to have no more major problems. For the Irons, an important message three weeks before the Bundesliga start.
Bundesliga Start
Union is three weeks away from the Bundesliga start. The Irons are currently 11th in the Bundesliga table, have 39 points and a record of 10 wins, 9 draws and 15 losses from 34 games. In the last season, they finished 11th. In their last game, they won 4-0 against FC Augsburg.
